Industrial Engineering Journal
Publication Ethics
Author(s) cannot submit a manuscript for publication to other journals if it was
submitted to IEJ. It is also unethical to republish similar research work
(text/figures/tables) and it most likely violates copyrights. IEJ requires a signed
author's copyright form transfer agreement stating the originality of the research work
submitted through a manuscript after acceptance. That is to say that if the article is
accepted for publication by the Industrial Engineering Journal then the author must
transfer the copyright form of the article to the journal. Hence, author(s) should
submit original, new and unpublished research work to the journal. Ethical issues
such as plagiarism, fraudulent and duplicate publication, violation of copyrights,
authorship and conflict of interest are serious issues concerning ethical integrity
when submitting a manuscript to IEJ for publication.
The author(s) submitting the paper(s) to the “Industrial Engineering Journal (IEJ)” are requested to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:
- The author(s) must ensure that their article is their own original work, which
does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity,
and cannot be construed as plagiarizing any other published work, including
their own previously published work.
- All the authors named on the paper are equally held accountable for the content of a submitted manuscript or published paper.
- The author(s) must not submit a manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- The author(s) should neither submit previously published work nor work which is based in substance on previously published work, either in part or whole.
- The author(s) must appropriately cite all relevant publications. Information obtained privately, as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, should not be used or reported in the author's work unless fully cited, and with the permission of that third party.
- The author(s) must make available all necessary formal and documented ethical approval from an appropriate research ethics committee, including evidence of anonymization and informed consent from the client(s) or
patient(s) studied, if appropriate.
- The author(s) must avoid making defamatory statements in submitted articles
that could be construed as impugning any person's reputation.
- The author(s) must declare any potential conflict of interest - be it professional
or financial - which could be held to arise with respect to the article.
- The author(s) must disclose all sources of funding for the research reported in
the paper.
- The corresponding author should provide a list of suggested reviewers (total
EIGHT, three must be from abroad). The corresponding author must provide
the correct details for suitable reviewers with the appropriate experience to
review, ensuring that the suggested reviewers do not have a conflict of
interest.
Authors and Authors Responsibilities
The IEJ recommends that authorship be based on the following criteria
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the
acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work.
- Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
- Final approval of the version to be published.
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that
questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are
appropriately investigated and resolved.
In addition to being accountable for the parts of the work he or she has done, an
author should be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for specific other
parts of the work. In addition, authors should have confidence in the integrity of the
contributions of their co-authors.
Following are the responsibilities of the author(s)
- Reporting standards
- Data access and retention
- Originality and plagiarism
- Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication
- Acknowledgment of sources
- Authorship of the paper
- Hazards and human or animal subjects
- Disclosure and conflicts of interest
- Fundamental errors in published works
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, or editorial board members have to disclose every situation or connection, which could potentially affect the impartial review and publication procedure.
Archiving
The publisher has the plan for electronic backup and preservation of access to IE
Journal content in the event a journal is no longer published.
