FRAMEWORK FOR BENCHMARKING INTERNAL SUPPLY CHAIN

Abstract

In recent years, SCM has become major component ofcompetitive strategy to enhance organizational productivity and profitability. So, there is a need to develop suitable performance measures and metrics to make right decisions that would contribute to an improved organizational competitiveness. This article describes the connection between the supply chain practices and a company's performance. The main purpose ofthis studyis to develop a framework to benchmarksupply chain performancebased onperformance metrics such as (i) Total length of the supply chain, (ii) Supply chain inefficiency ratio, (iii) Supply chain working capital productivity. By implementing this framework a firm can identify the areas of opportunity for improvement in its internal supply chain.
