This paper proposes a multi stage maturity framework which can facilitate leveraging offullpotential of information technology. This framework is an integrated structure offive different aspects ofwhich innovation is the most significant. The process of innovation has multiple interrelated stages namely idea-generation, idea-screening, idea-development and value delivery. The value delivery stage is the most crucial for innovation project to be successful. This paper explores use ofthe conventionalplan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle and affinity matrixfor developing aframework for the stage. Theframework is validatedusing a sample of115 innovationprojects and by deploying artificial neural network and support vector machines. Further for the innovation process to be successful, the organizations need a set of competencies. This paper also tries to establish leading indicators for these competencies in ierms of determinants and characteristics of individuals and ecosystems.
