Abstract
Boring Trepanning Association (BTA) machining are capable of drilling holes having large length to diameter ratio in a single pass. Even this process represents the most economical method of hole producing with length-to-diameter ratios greater than three. The objective of this study was to ascertain the machining parameters on hole quality produced by deep hole drilling process and to develop a better understanding regarding process parameters on the hole (L /D< 5) quality. This work investigates the experimental results obtained during BTA drilling on STRESSPROOF STEEL for different machining conditions. The data presented here are mainly on hole size variation and surface roughness machined on production equipment.
Keywords- BTA machining, stressproof steel, surface roughness, hole quality.
