A STUDY OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: THE CASE OF AN INDIAN AIRPORT

Abstract

This paper is concerned with how supply chain management (SCM) is practiced at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), India and identifies supply chain (SC) issues facing the airport operations. Primary data was collected from the key players in the airport byconducting in-depth interview. Based onfindings five important measures are proposed for a successful SCprocess and to enhance the airport performance. The study is expected to facilitate discussion among multiple organizations involved in the CSIA operations on various SC concepts to instigate an effective SCprocess across the entire airport service chain.
