Abstract

This paper seeks to analyse the different employability criteria needed for job performance in CSE/IT domain and hence, to develop an employability model to examine the employability index of CSE/IT graduates. This proposed model is based on three constructs of employability viz. Attitude, Knowledge and Skill. The proposed model lists specific sub-parameters under each of the constructs of employability. It is developed using focused interview with experts in CSE/IT domain. An illustrative example showing the application of model in a self-assessment mode to measure the employability index of engineering students is given. The sample of students is taken from final year engineering students of CSE/IT department in select Private University in Gurgaon, Haryana. This model is useful for students, employers and educational institutes.
