CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS (CSF'S) IN ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP)

Abstract

For the overall growth of the organization there are number of factors are to be present. These factors could be used directly or indirectly by all the employees of that organization like operators, engineers, managers in the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP). By examining the various factors in enterprise resource planning a set of critical success factors for the implementation has been identified. This paper explores and validates the existing literature empirically to find out the critical success factors in ERP. For these identified factors a statistical computing package MINITAB 16 is used for the analysis of collected data from the organization. And these identified 17 factors are: business & IT legacy systems, business plan and vision, business process reengineering, change management culture and program, communication, ERP teamwork & composition, monitoring and evaluation of performance, project champion, project management, s/w development, testing & troubleshooting, top management support, data management, ERP strategy & implementation methodology, ERP vendor, ERP system selection, planning & scheduling and technical & business knowledge. Along with these 17 factors there are 96 sub factors also identified. The finding of the results plays important role in the implementation of ERP.
