Abstract

The need to understand the relationships among performance metrics and organizational goals has never been more critical. These relationships are pivotal to tracking and justifying firm's sustained growth and performance. The objective of this paper is to develop a framework for putting a holistic metrics for a software organization. The paper discusses the challenges in metrics implementation, highlights pitfalls and suggests certain measures to make it robust and self sustaining. It also discusses the alignment process with the goal of the organization. It suggests a framework to have both lag and lead indicators congruent with Critical Success factors (CSFs) at various levels.
