Abstract

Both Cloud Computing and sustainability are emerging trend in business and society. Many Universities provide the provision for online admissions, filling exam form online, declaring results online also they are using specialized software for their day to day business. In any Educational Institution the various department like Mechanical, Civil, Automobile, Electronics, Telecommunications etc they require their own state of art computer Laboratory equipped with the specialized software of their domain. Increasing demand of high configuration machines and resources by everyone is increasing the carbon footprints. Thus we need to emphasis on developing the long term strategies o reduce the carbon foot print through more sustainable style of computing. Cloud computing is an excellent alternative which is energy saving and cost saving for educational institutions which are especially under budget shortage in order to operate their information systems effectively without spending any more capital for the computers and network devices.
