Abstract
The extensive work were carried out regarding the transverse vibration analysis, the free frequency analysis & the dynamic characteristics analysis of a rectangular plate with hole of different shape by using different methods; variation method, finite difference formulation. This paper uses the Finite Element Method for the determination of free vibration in the rectangular plate with rectangular hole at different positions, which is compared and verified by theoretical calculation. The 2-D rectangular plate with rectangular shape hole is model in the Computer aided design software ANSYS 10 is fully restrained along four edges. The shell element was used for the meshing the model and the specified boundary condition here applied for solving the problem. The natural frequencies and corresponding mode shape of a rectangular plate with a rectangular hole at different positions have been analyzed and predicted and theoretically verified. The present finite element analysis results where approximately 90 to 95 percentages match with the theoretical calculation.
