Abstract

TRIZ is an acronym for the Russian words TeoriyaResheniyaIzobretatelskikhZadatch, which, when translated, mean Theory of the Solution of Inventive Problems. Manufacturing and service industries are facing the stiff competition globally. Various issues like technical, business, environmental etc. need to be resolved rapidly. This circumstances makes industries desires more efficient and cost effective innovations. TRIZ is powerful methodology for fast, directed and systematic innovation. Hence many global organizations introduced TRIZ into their research and development activities. Over the past ten years TRIZ has been applied successfully in many multi-national organizations all over the world. The objectives of this research paper are to appreciate the application of TRIZ in various fields and to introduce the tools and techniques of TRIZ to novice learner of innovation.
