Abstract

In the existing global competitive market, offering high quality product with competitive cost is a challenging task for companies. The need for a methods of rapidly improvement of quality, standardization of work, cost effective product development cycle, improved production facilities, coordination with supplier, coordination with supporting software including design, leanness, shopfloor control process & satisfaction of customer is becoming important. In present paper with the developed framework, an attempt has been made to indentify the factors affecting leanness. Literature review pertaining to lean manufacturing has been discussed and criterion to achieve leanness is discussed. Benefits from lean manufacturing have been discussed.
