Abstract
Due to conflicting objectives and interests of supply chain members, supply chain coordination becomes important to determine the whole chain's performance. In this paper, a framework is developed to understand various issues of supply chain coordination. Coordination barriers, coordination mechanisms, and coordination performance measures have been identified from the literature survey and expert opinions. The framework developed helps in gaining learning insights towards coordinating different functions of supply chain management. The objective of the research is to identify supply chain coordination enablers which assist Indian manufacturing companies in improving coordination among their trading partners. Improved supply chain coordination helps in responding to customer demands and in competing with global players. Competitive advantage can be achieved by efficiently coordinating supply chain activities and members of the supply chain.
