PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT OF SUPPLY CHAIN INFORMATION SHARING PRACTICES: A SURVEY OF INDIAN MANUFACTURING ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract

As an effect of global competitive environment, the organizations are enforced to deliver best of their performance. Due to interdependency of organizations, performance of every organization depends on performance of supply chain (SC) partners, which can be improved by effective information sharing (IS). The objective of this paper is to measure the impact of IS implementation in SC on various aspects of SC performance among different selected sectors of Indian manufacturing organizations. This paper reports the findings of a postal survey carried out to access the role of IS in performance improvement. The findings explored the role of IS in improving performance of business, organization and overall SC for Indian manufacturing organizations. Also, paper discusses about various performance indicators of SC and supplier evaluation criteria's for IS enabled SC.
