Abstract

With the emergence of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering in 1957 as a non profit Organization with a mission to propagate the IE Profession in our country and dedicated to advancement of I.E. education and assist in Management of all endeavors in the society at large, there has been tremendous achievement in the popularization of IE concepts in Manufacturing/service sectors over the last 58 years, having crossed Golden Jubilee, thanks to the dedicated efforts of IIIE through its 30 chapters all over the nation and innovative programme implemented by IIIE as a result of which IIIE has become the Flag ship institution for problem identifying as well as problem solving in the manufacturing/service sector. In this article the author has focused on the significance of Entrepreneurship Development under the sub theme, to support the main theme IE for shaping future of India, As we see around the spectrum of Industrial development, today there has been tremendous contribution from versatile industrial engineers in all most all business enterprises, committed to advancement of IE Profession. In reality, these dedicated Industrial Engineers working in various Organization, private and Government as well, are instrumental for the significant contribution of IE applications, which lay concrete Basis for successful operations of industrial establishments. The Industrial Engineers in true spirit are entrepreneurs, promoting the skill development of manpower employed in the business houses.
