Abstract
Rapid changes are taking place in the industry globally. The need of the hour is to make companies think about adopting the Lean, Green and Six Sigma approach such that they can improve their effectiveness in all the realistically feasible ways and to the maximum extent possible. The ongoing industrial changes indicate that more SMEs are becoming serious about Lean, Green and Six-Sigma approach for improving their business for defects free production and be globally cost effective. They should focus not just on cost reduction but growth of the company. Companies may have to compete, respond well, react faster and so forth. Essentially companies will have to learn to do more with less using techniques like Lean manufacturing, Green manufacturing and Six-Sigma. The present study investigates this issue by exploring the scenario of implementation of Lean, Green and Six-Sigma in worldwide SMEs. Indian industry is still struggling to implement these principles and philosophies in Indian SMEs. Through this paper, an attempt has been made to identify the scope for Lean, Green and Six-Sigma implementation practices in Indian industry.
