Abstract
The growing concerns with dynamic environmental effects, affects entire production economy. Fast pace production driven economy like India has huge concerns about Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). The last few years automobile industries are setting up their own manufacturing plants in competitive nationwide market. Due to weak administration, poor guideline, public responsiveness, financial or environmental motives, it is necessary to implement green supply chain management. In this context, this paper is an attempt to identify various barriers in implementing GSCM practices and prioritizing them in order to incorporate mitigating solutions in the policy of organization. Due to the existence of various barriers, achieving green practices in the supply chain is difficult. Wide set of Solutions availability creates confusion. Therefore, it is required to mitigate the effect of these barriers which hinder implementation of green supply chain. This can be done through ranking the solutions so that organizations can concentrate more on high priority to develop strategies to implement green practices in the supply chains. This work suggests an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) based model to explore and prioritize the solutions of green practices in Supply chain to conquer the barriers. This has been done through inculcating of GSCM. The weight of the identified barriers is calculated by AHP. This provides a better understanding of various barriers which may help in finding right solutions.
