Abstract
Industrial Automation in Manufacturing Industry especially in Aircraft Manufacture has brought in new avenues creating newer approach towards global standards. In this line the industry also started outsourcing of certain non-strategic facilities to outsiders, aiming at development of capabilities in the partnership industry. Outsourcing to outsiders in specialty works with concentration in core competencies and improving the automated facilities with safety and productivity by the Aircraft Industry in India have been focused in this paper with the exemplified induction of New Technologies of the millennium by Indian Aircraft Industries a dream organization of consortium of all the Aircraft Industry in Public Sector in India. By extended cooperation from the major organizations in current technologies, design, development and industrial automation processes to the outsourced agencies in a win-win relationship would improve productivity and the main organization can concentrate in core-competencies. Propelled by the amplification of 'defense expenditure' and the growing commercial/civil aviation market, the Indian Aircraft Industry has become one of the rapid growing aircraft endeavors in the world with automation in most of its production and manufacturing areas. This study is focused on explaining the Special Equipment utilization for its production and servicing apart from developing a methodology to outsource various automated soaring technologies to the teir-2/teir-3 companies basing on specified parameters and capabilities. Because of the relatively small production volumes and huge varieties of products, industrial automation typically utilizes new technologies sparingly in Indian Aircraft Industry, more so in the teir-2/teir-3 companies. The methods of automated manufacturing, outsourcing and technological cooperation and new technology directions with the final aim of growth and productivity have been explained in the paper
