Abstract

Supply chain consists of several processes ranging right from raw material stage up to the consumption stage by the end user. It is basically like the spinal cord of a human being which is the most vital part for supporting all activities of the human body. If this spinal cord fails, entire operations of the organizations get disrupted and the organization will collapse. Therefore, importance is given in trying to make the supply chain as robust as possible. Supply chains may be different for different organizations. There are critical supply chains for which extreme care has to be taken while maintaining their time sensitivity factors and shelf life factors, for example, perishable products like foodstuffs. In this report, a critical supply chain is dealt with. The aim is to optimize the supply chain of radioisotopes which are used in hospitals and imaging centres for detection of cancer or cardiac diseases.
