Abstract

In today's competitive world the selling price of a product plays an important role in attracting customers, as the customers are not willing to pay more than a certain amount of money for the product. Optimization of resources, process and systematic control has become paramount. Hence optimization of process without reducing value is very critical for industry. This work is an attempt to develop the simulation model and dynamic programming model for its optimization at steel processing industry. Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time. Discrete event simulation (DES) will be used for state of simulation changes at discrete-time intervals of ordered sequence to get the optimize result and, Dynamic programming is mathematical technique to solve decision problems. Dynamic programming will be used to selecting a combination of decision plans form a large number of alternative combinations. Present work is proposed to be carried out at JSW Steel Coated Product Ltd. Kalmeshwar at continuous corrugated line.
