Abstract

The present paper focuses on implementation of the six sigma process in the tool room for improving the accuracy of scientific instruments in a die manufacturing industry. The aim of this theme is to specify a structured method to thin out the flaws in the scientific instruments So that overall defects can be scaled down while measuring a component or finished product. To thin out these defects six sigma methodologies is used so that a structured operation in getting rid of the flaws can be started. In this paper, Six Sigma process is led up by defining the problem which was getting Zero error in the scientific instruments in regular interval of time, on measuring the data it was studied that many instruments which are used very frequently along the shop floor have large scale zero error. To ameliorate this problem every instrument is calibrated to control defects in the future and a new schedule of calibration is presented. In giving this method a large scale improvement is recorded in the instrument efficiency.
